Storyboards

Storyboards
Storyboards are series of illustrations of scenes in a film that are used to layout the film before the actual filming process, this is important to do as it is very helpful in deciding camera angles and types of shots.

Storyboard Plans
For the woman being sat alone in the restaurant, we shall have one camera shot. Probably a wide shot, followed by a cut to the man running towards the restuarant.
Another shot will be the man entering the restaurant and briskly walking to join the woman. We shall show continuity and match on action with this.
The first piece of dialogue will be an over the shoulder shot facing the woman. This shows shot reverse shot. It will then swicth to an over the shoulder shot of the man composing himself. This will reflect the 180 degree rule.
After this there will be a wide shot of the waitress coming over to the table and offering drinks. a few lines will be exchanged then the waitress will leave.
The man and woman will finish their dialogue and it will all be done reflecting the 180 degree rule and shot reverse shot. However, when the waitress returns, it will be a wide shot of the three chracters. end.

Our Storyboard

Camera
From our storyboard we have been able to decide the different shots we are going to use with the camera. We are mainly going to be using wide shots, which is a view of the whole scene. And we are also going to be using over the shoulder shots, this will convey the 180 degree rule as well as match on action and shot reverse shot.

6th November - Location, Costumes & Props

Locations
An empty room for the restaurant is needed, we are having it empty to emphasize how late the man is. We will just have a table cloth with a candle on the table and the woman will be surrounded with many empty glasses.

Costumes
Costumes are highly important to the task as incorrect costumes have the potential of ruining a drama. For example, a superhero without a customised costume would not look right or fit in with the production. So we have carefully selected costumes to suit our characters perfectly.

Man:
Smart, Casual clothing.

Posh Lady:
Smart casual clothing.

Waitress:
A uniform of some kind, smart clothing.

Props
Similar to the costumes, props are highly important in helping a scene run smoothly to a good quality. The plot is a lot easier to understand when characters are interacting with relevant props. For example, cutlery on a dinner table.

The props needed are; wine bottle, candle, wine glasses, serviettes, and cutlery. Also for the dining room, a table, table cloth and 2 chairs are needed.
